2008 Art Project

Roxelana is hosting a creative new Art Project for 2008.  It's open to anyone who'd like to participate.  Here's what you do:

* each month a theme will be announced.

* you create two ATC (Artist Trading Cards) based on that theme.

* you send ONE (1) of those cards, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to Roxelana by the last day of the month.   For now the address is as follows. Please check back as this is a temporary mailing address.

Roxelana
18336 Aurora Ave N Ste 112-431
Shoreline, WA 98133

* in the middle of the next month, once all cards have arrived, Roxelana will mix the cards up and send them out to the participants, making sure no one gets his or her original card back.

* you can participate all twelve months, or just one month, or whenever you can.    each month you particpate, you will have two cards -- the one you created and kept, and the one you got back from a fellow artist/dancer.

You can send in more than one card, if you like.  All I ask is that you keep one for your own records (shouldn't you be your own favorite artist?) and that if your envelope is getting heavy, add more stamps.

Participants!  I would like to scan and post your amazing works of art on a gallery here on the site.  When you send in your card, please let me know if I can do so.  If you would like a link to your own website, let me know that, too!

ATCs have two rules.  One, their size can only be 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" (or 3 1/2 x 2 1/2, if you'd like).  I use "Leader Visiting Cards" from PaperZone (tm), which are slightly larger than that size.  (3 1/2 x 2 9/16) I trim them, if necessary, but not always.  Two, they can never be sold, only traded.  Otherwise, anything goes!  Do an internet search on "Artist Trading Cards" and you will be amazed at the variety and creativity out there.  Stitched, drawn, knitted, metalwork, shrinky-dink, collage - you name it, it can be and has been done as an ATC.
